FireCrypt is a Firefox extension that allows encrypting and decrypting pieces of text selected from a Web page, entered manually, or pasted. It uses the same password for both encryption and decryption.
The encryption process is based on the reliable 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) symmetric algorithm and the AES JavaScript implementation by Chris Veness. All the required tasks are performed by the extension itself with no intervention of external tools or Web services.
This extension can be useful for scenarios such as maintaining encrypted sections in a wiki, sending secure email based on a shared secret, etc.
